Naomi Watts Still Can’t Talk About Canceled ‘Game Of Thrones’ Prequel

The ‘Game of Thrones’ star still cannot talk about the canceled series.

Naomi Watts still cannot talk about her canceled Game of Thrones prequel series for HBO.

As the original Game of Thrones series was beginning to wrap things up, HBO began to greenlight ideas for potential spinoffs of the hit show. One such idea was a prequel series that was said to be set roughly 5,000 years before the events of the main series starring Naomi Watts. It was rumored to go into how the White Walkers were created and a pilot for the series had been produced. Sadly for reasons that are still unknown, HBO opted not to move forward with the series.

While speaking with Collider Naomi Watts dove into how disappointed she was that the Game of Thrones series was axed and how series writer, Jane Goldman, got her so invested in the series. She also revealed that, despite the show having been canceled almost a year ago, she still isn’t allowed to talk about what it was about:

She’s fantastic. She’s a force…you know…her mind is just beyond brilliant. I loved having time with her…way to short and such a shame because she really kind of got me into that world that I never thought I would be a part of. I hadn’t watched Game of Thrones before and I got to binge it and I got heavily into the whole world. I loved it. But to this day I can’t. I can’t say anything. It’s funny because I have an Instagram account and I found something in my memories-pictures that come up-and it was when I was there in costume and I was like ‘Oh! This would be fun to post!’ And I was like ‘No! I can’t do that I’ll get into so much trouble!’ Just the costume, you know? I wasn’t thinking about what I was wearing. It was what I was doing. But anyway. Not allowed to say.”
