Gal Gadot’s Golden Eagle Armor Has New Ability In ‘Wonder Woman 1984’

The costume designer on the film compared the design to Christian Bale’s Batsuit.

The Golden Eagle armor in Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman 1984 has a unique ability according to the costume designer on the film.

Although fans were disappointed to learn that Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman 1984 has been delayed until this October, the most recent issue of Total Film revealed new information about what to expect from the film. Costume designer Lindy Hemming opened up about Diana Prince’s stunning new armor that wowed fans when the first footage from the movie arrived online. Hemming revealed that the new look comes with new abilities to aid Diana in her battles.

Hemming previously worked on Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight and said Wonder Woman’s new armor is similar to the design of the Batsuit. The costume designer explained that director Patty Jenkins wanted Diana’s armor to act as a “one-woman formation of shields, so no one can attack her” before going on to explain it’s made up of small parts. She also pointed out that although it’s got plenty of maneuverability, it wasn’t pleasant for Gal Gadot to wear.

“It’s like the Batsuit, or anything: all small parts. An armadillo-like articulation means that the person can move and twist and turn, and it will return to its previous position. Having said that, it was not pleasant to wear — and no armor of any kind is pleasant to wear!”
