Director Christopher McQuarrie (Mission: Impossible – Fallout) has officially signed on to return to write and direct Mission: Impossible 7 and 8 back-to-back.

This comes to no surprise as last year’s ‘Mission: Impossible – Fallout’ was the franchise’s biggest hit grossing over $790 million worldwide. McQuarrie will work on the scripts for ‘M:I-7’ and ‘M:I-8’ as he waits for star Tom Cruise to finish filming ‘Top Gun: Maverick’. The plan is to start filming later this year and eventually release ‘M:I-7’ in 2021 and ‘M:I-8’ in 2022.

Stay tuned.
